Hi Tina,
I suggest you can use the electric mixer. Use the dough hook attached to the mixer and set it at low speed.
I would suggest you take a visual inspection of the dough then set a fixed mixing duration. After a few minutes, check the dough if it has become smooth, shiny, pull away from the mixer bowl, then I should be OK.
