Hi Angie,
It should give you a very similar result because it is braised for a long time. Steam required fresh chicken for the best result.

I’ve tried your Hainanese Chicken and the family loves it. Will be trying this Soy Sauce Chicken today.

I normally cook my whole chicken fresh from the market. However, today I have a bird that’s frozen. Can I still hope to achieve the same results after first thawing it out to room temperature before poaching ?
